The Taigei-class submarine is the successor to the Soryu-class, with the first, the Taigei, commissioned in March 2022.
While externally similar to the Soryu-class, it is equipped with higher-capacity, higher-output lithium-ion batteries, improving its submersible capabilities.
The fourth, the Raigei, is scheduled to be launched in October 2023 and commissioned in March 2025.

While recreating differences from the Soryu, such as the wider upper hull and sail base, the model features separate parts for easy assembly and painting.
Includes ship number and name decals for SS-516 Raigei and SS-517 (to be named in autumn 2024).
