Product Introduction
In the Imperial Japanese Navy, coastal defense ships served in a wide range of roles, primarily as oceangoing escort vessels, escorting transport ships and conducting anti-submarine patrols.
A total of nine Hiburi-class ships were commissioned between 1944 and 1945 during the latter stages of the war. Compared to their predecessors, the Mikura-class, they were simplified and more suitable for mass production.
