Mini K67x is a large diaphragm capacitor with wideband, extended frequency response and harmonic saturation. Customers report that this mic beats higher-priced alternatives on vocals, guitar cab, and drum overheads.
The microphone's voicing comes from a unique large diaphragm capsule design. The lows are well defined with no fuzz or flubs. Mid is accurate. Visible frequencies are slightly attenuated (~1dB). The top end is neutral with a gradual airy roll-off (no blush or hype). This frequency response complements a wide range of sources.
The second ingredient in the mic's signature sound is the circuit, which provides both of the primary components of what people call "tube mic sound." The other is transient compression. The K67x is not a tube mic, but you may be surprised by its sound. The mic's balanced tone and ability to gently saturate tracks (even harmonics) give the mic a 4x price tag in its sonic realm.
