The New Interconfessional Translation, a new Japanese translation of the Bible that aims to become the standard for the next generation, was published in December 2018 after a translation period of approximately nine years. Following the publication of the New Interconfessional Translation in 1987, this latest translation project was undertaken with the support and cooperation of Catholic and Protestant churches. It was translated by Japan's leading biblical scholars and Japanese language experts, incorporating the research findings of the United Bible Societies (UBS), the world's largest network for Bible translations.
