Evocative of the '50s, the era when EVANS was founded, the EVANS '56 is a new series perfect for drummers seeking a vintage sound and look. Calftone brings out the classic style and sound of vintage drums even in today's modern drums.

The Calftone uses a 7mil film base and a unique blend of materials to maximize the tom's characteristics, such as tuning stability in the high tones, a richer, deeper tone, and response. This is thinner than Calftone bass heads, allowing for maximum tuning stability in the high tones, a richer, deeper tone, and a more responsive sound.

Calftone follows the same approach when using natural skin drumheads, using thinner sections for toms and thicker sections for basses to enhance low-end response.
