The Opus 88 Omar is a large fountain pen with a clear satin finish and a play of color between the resin and black tie-shaped clip. The special loading system that distinguishes all Opus 88s is called an eyedropper, recalling the traditional Japanese refilling system added to the dropper, also used in Europe since the 1800s, the Opus 88's ebonite flow closure valve. To charge the pen, loosen the writing unit and pour ink into the reservoir with the special pipette included in the packaging. Once everything is tightened again, ink enters the nib by acting on the back of the pen body to open the valve in the reservoir. When you finish writing, the valve closes, and the fountain pen is transported completely safe, as the flow is cut off. Therefore, you can place any Opus 88 on a flat surface at extreme pressures and temperatures without risk of leaks or ink spills.
