A beautifully sheer gauze datejime (breathable and suitable for use all year round, not just in summer)
Beautiful sheer gauze datejime |
It is woven using Mojiriori, one of the traditional techniques of Hakata weaving.
Iro-ori is a special device in which the warp threads are intertwined with other warp threads,
This fabric has transparent gaps on the surface and is woven by squeezing from both sides, giving it a strong and firm texture.
The mesh-like transparency is beautifully woven by skilled craftsmen.
This is a datejime that can be used all year round.
[About Saori]
Using a special material called Mojiri thread, two warp threads are intertwined when the weft is woven in, creating a watermark in the fabric.
[What is Hakata Ori?]
Hakata-ori, which has a history of over 770 years, is suitable for use as an obi because the fabric is thick and firm.
Hakata obi is well-known for its easy-to-tie and hard-to-loosen characteristics.
It is said that one of the charms of this product is the sound it makes when tightened, like silk.
[What is a Kenjo pattern?]
The Kenjo pattern is made up of four stripes: "Dokko" (single-pronged vase), "Hanazara" (flower plate), "Oyako-jima" (parent and child stripes), and "Koko-jima" (filial piety stripes), and each pattern has a meaning.
The "Dokko" symbolizes protection from evil and the destruction of any worldly desires, while the "Hanazara" symbolizes memorial service and purification.
Also, stripes with two thin lines sandwiched between two thick lines are called "parent and child stripes,"
The stripes, consisting of two thin lines sandwiched between two thick lines, represent parents protecting their children, love, and prosperity.
The "filial piety stripes" represent a child protecting their parent, respect and inheritance.
Therefore, "parent and child stripes" and "filial piety stripes" are highly valued as auspicious items that bring safety and prosperity to the home.
[Notes]
There may be thin threads coming out from around the selvedge (edge).
After using it a few times, the thin threads will no longer come out.
If it bothers you, you can cut it off with thread scissors and continue using it without any problems.
Also, regarding the thicker woven threads unraveling from both ends of the cut ends, the threads will no longer unravel after a few uses.
