To meet the demands of Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX users with high storage needs and to make up for the lack of SATA ports, SilverStone created the ECS07, a hardware-based SATA 6G non-RAID M.2 PCIe expansion card. The ECS07 provides expansion of up to five SATA Gen3 ports, which can reach 1700MB/s. Unlike typical SATA hard drive expansion cards that use PCIe slots, the ECS07 utilizes the M.2 interface, allowing the motherboard to maximize the expansion capacity of the motherboard's hard drive storage while still maintaining the flexibility of the PCIe slot.
