This is a large-diameter standard lens for digital use that incorporates the latest design and manufacturing technology to achieve the highest level of depiction performance befitting the Art line. You can enjoy shooting in a wide range of fields, such as snapshots, portraits, and landscapes, by taking advantage of the bokeh created by the shallow depth of field. We have focused on high optical performance to fully demonstrate expressive power at all shooting distances. By optimizing the lens power placement, we have thoroughly corrected the field distortion that causes performance degradation in the periphery. Adoption of double-sided aspherical lenses effectively corrects spherical aberration, astigmatism, and coma aberration. There is little blurring from point light sources at the periphery of the screen, and it is possible to create beautiful bokeh near the maximum aperture. The new lens line uses rubber for the connection part of the attached hood. The lens cap and AF/MF selector switch have also been completely redesigned to improve usability. The internal parts are made of metal and a new composite material, TSC (thermally stable composite), which is highly compatible with metal parts, and are appropriately placed to achieve high precision product manufacturing.
