【Voltage Compatibility】
When using electrical appliances, please note that they are designed for Japanese voltage specifications (90-110V), so if you use them with a different voltage, it may cause a malfunction.
【Plug Type】
Our products use Japanese plug types (A or B type).
Please use a conversion adapter if necessary.
【Important Note on Transformers and Adapters】
A transformer adjusts voltage to match your device’s requirements.
A conversion adapter only changes the plug shape and does not adjust voltage.
Using only a conversion adapter without a transformer may result in damage to the product.
【Liability】
We are not responsible for malfunctions or damages caused by improper use, such as operating the product without a transformer.
The WA-87 is a FET condenser microphone based on a circuit from the 1960s. Featuring an affordable price and high quality sound that changes the perception of the industry.
Since releasing the WA-87 in 2016, we've learned a lot more about microphone manufacturing and proven that we can deliver quality that shatters industry expectations at an affordable price. Based on that experience, we wondered if it was possible to visibly improve the WA-87 without increasing the price, and the new WA-87 R2 was born. Since the release of the WA-87, we've put everything we've learned about vintage microphone reproduction into this product to bring you closer to the sound, vibe, and performance of the original, beloved '60s classics. The new WA-87 R2 is bigger, bolder, and better. ■ Faithfully reproduced with top quality parts The WA-87 is based on a classic 60's circuit that is widely considered to be one of the greatest studio microphones ever designed. That's why the new WA-87 R2 uses the highest quality components, including NOS Fairchild transistors and Wima high-bandwidth polystyrene and film capacitors. In the WA-87 R2, like the original WA-87
A custom wire-wound output transformer manufactured by Cinemag USA is used to slightly increase the output level and improve frequency response. It also uses the same capsule as the WA-87 and is designed to vintage microphone specifications. The result is an incredibly accurate reproduction of the sound of the most widely used studio microphone in the history of popular recording. ■The most versatile microphone Like all vintage microphones, the WA-87 R2 can record virtually anything. Three polar patterns (cardioid, omni, and figure-eight) accommodate a wide range of applications, and an 80Hz high-pass filter reduces low-frequency rumble when needed. A switchable -10dB pad is useful if you want to record very loud sources, so as not to overload the internal electronics. The WA-87 R2 is great for vocals, drum overheads, guitar, piano, auxiliary percussion, brass instruments, strings, and more. Not only that, but it's the same price as the original WA-87, so you can keep several in your mic locker. ■Great sound and design
The WA-87 R2 is heavier, stronger, and wrapped in a larger nickel-plated brass body, and the new rounded head basket shape creates even more space around the capsule for a more comfortable sound signature. I'm doing it. Authentic vintage-like warmth and a smooth, detailed top end ensure this mic performs on par with mics costing more than five times the price. No matter what else you have, the WA-87 R2 will become one of your favorite microphones.
