If the torque is less than the above values, follow the instructions for your seatpost. If the edge of your seatpost clamp is sharp and there is a risk of damaging the rails, file the edge. This will extend the life of the rails, but it does not eliminate the risk of damage. We recommend lubricating the clamp bolts and nuts before attaching the saddle to the seatpost. This will ensure accurate tightening torque. If you do not use lubricant and the bolts and nuts are made of different materials, accurate tightening torque will not be achieved.
