Game reproduction: it is the natural process, that is, the multiplication through the fertilization of the female part of the flower (pistil) by the pollen emitted by the stamens which may be part of the same flower (self-fertilization) or even of flowers belonging to other plants of the same species but of a different variety (cross fertilization). So it is a question of sexual reproduction, the material that is used to obtain new plants is the seed.
To obtain botanical or rootstock roses, it is sufficient to use the seeds of rose hips collected at the end of autumn.. After having cleaned them of the pulp, the seeds should be placed in containers with a light soil, just covered by a layer of coarse sand, not sea sand.; They should be left in a place where they can suffer the winter cold, but sheltered from the wind, taking care that the soil does not dry out but remains slightly moist.; To do this you can cover the container with leaves. If sowing is done in trays, tubs etc., after the seedlings have emerged (usually from April to early June), we will proceed with a pricking out in pots or in the ground, in prepared soil where, if desired, at the right moment we will proceed with the grafting. Trying to grow your own hybrid roses is not very easy but not impossible either.
